With a mission of responsibly producing beautiful Australian Barramundi while demonstrating its genuine care and commitment to its people, fish, environment and partners, Humpty Doo Barra was founded in 1993 on the banks of the Adelaide River an hour from Darwin.


The business has grown from being Australia’s smallest producer of saltwater barramundi to the largest. Annual turnover is now in excess of $50M and through the rollout of a $60M expansion program adds significantly to the Territory’s GTP. Humpty Doo Barramundi supplies more than 5,000 tonnes of Barramundi around Australia each year and employs more than 150 people. Humpty Doo Barramundi is owned and operated by the Richards family with five generations in the Territory.
